At CyberRiskModels, we're proud to join the Open Education Resources tradition by collaborating with Boise State University and releasing the Cybersecurity Risk Quantification textbook, toolkit, and course.
The course is part of the BSU Cyber Operations and Resilience (CORe) program and is available to undergraduates and graduates.
Now it's also available to industry for continuing education.
Special thanks to the Program Chair Sin Ming Loo.
The term Open Education Resources (OER) was first coined at the 2002 Foreum on Open Courseware of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO). The aim is to make educational materials freely accessible and reusable by anyone, promoting collaboration and sharing in education.
Some of the early leaders in this movement included the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), where the faculty and administration committed to freely sharing with the world the content of all of their courses.
Major funding for this movement came from The Hewlett Foundation donating over $170 million.
This textbook is for use in higher education and is provided as an Open Education Resource by Boise State University from their Cybersecurity Risk Quantification course. That means it is freely available online. The companion Excel workbook is also available (see the download link below)
This Excel workbook contains all the course-related tools and models covered in the Cybersecurity Risk Quantification OER Textbook.
Be sure to subscibe to receive updates and notices when new content is available.
